Accessibility
Commitment
The “La Formation pour tous” platform is committed to making its content accessible to as many people as possible, especially people with disabilities or difficulties using digital tools.
The accessibility approach is based on two ideas:
- compliance with digital accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 level AA and RGAA 4.1.2),
- design focused on real uses, in collaboration with the users concerned.
Conformity status
The site is partially compliant with RGAA 4.1.2.
This partial compliance is based on an internal self-assessment. The main accessibility fixes identified have been applied, but some points are still being improved and no formal independent RGAA audit has yet been carried out.
Statement preparation
Statement established on: June 15, 2026.
Last updated: June 15, 2026.
This statement is based on an internal self-assessment and on analysis of the currently implemented code.
Approach and methodology
An internal self-assessment was carried out on the main path to pedagogical resources, from the home page to the detailed guides, based on:
- WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 references (level AA),
- RGAA 4.1.2,
- reconstruction of the accessibility tree (roles, accessible names, states),
- manual checks and internal analyses with assistive technology reading simulations.
The priority P0 and P1 fixes have been applied to improve navigation, understanding and compatibility with assistive technologies.
User-centred design
The platform was co-built with users with disabilities and people facing digital vulnerability.
People with:
- visual impairments, including severe ones,
- motor limitations,
- cognitive or neurological difficulties,
- or low confidence with digital tools,
contributed through their user feedback to guide interface, readability, navigation and simplification choices.
This feedback made it possible to design an interface that is:
- readable,
- not visually aggressive,
- structured and well spaced,
- understandable without technical expertise.
Additional tests with assistive technologies, especially screen readers, are part of a continuous improvement approach.
Technical accessibility and assistive tools
The platform is designed to be compatible with external assistive technologies, including:
- screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS),
- keyboard navigation (without a mouse),
- system settings (zoom, contrast, reduced motion).
Practical measures in place:
- semantic HTML structure (
header, main, nav, footer), - centralized skip link available on initial page load; after internal navigation, focus may depend on browser behavior.
- visible keyboard focus on all interactive elements,
- appropriate ARIA roles and attributes (named icon buttons, announced guided path progress bar, exclusive selectors exposed as radio groups where relevant),
- dynamic announcements (
aria-live) to signal the audio segment currently being read, - several external links announce opening in a new window; some links still need to be harmonized.
- touch targets sized for comfortable touch use (WCAG 2.2),
- respect for the system setting “reduce motion” (
prefers-reduced-motion), - contrasts checked according to WCAG AA, with a compliant accent color on light backgrounds in the current interface.
Built-in usage support tools
In addition to this technical compatibility, the platform includes built-in accessibility tools designed to reduce cognitive load and make use easier:
- text size control (A+ / A−), applied to content without distorting the navigation menu,
- contextual audio reading of learning content (guided path questions, guide explanations),
- information structured by steps and summary blocks,
- simplified access to essential content,
- accessibility statement page available from the footer of every screen.
These tools do not conflict with external assistive technologies and allow each user to choose the interaction mode that best suits their situation.
Video content
The videos offered are selected with particular attention to accessibility:
- subtitles sought or checked as much as possible on selected videos,
- automatic subtitle activation when available,
- explicit indication when availability depends on the video platform.
Because this content is hosted on third-party platforms, especially YouTube, the quality and exact behaviour of subtitles may depend on those services.
Known limitations
Despite the efforts made, some limitations remain:
- some external links opening a new window do not yet announce it systematically,
- after internal navigation without a full reload, keyboard focus does not automatically return to the skip link,
- subtitles and the exact behavior of videos depend on third-party platforms such as YouTube,
- no formal independent RGAA audit has yet been carried out.
Continuous improvement
Accessibility is part of a continuous improvement approach.
Feedback from users, especially people with disabilities or digital vulnerability, is regularly taken into account to adapt and improve the platform.
