A new step

La Formation pour tous has just been accepted into the ElevenLabs Impact Program.

Through this program, ElevenLabs is providing us with access to its voice technologies for one year to support the experiments carried out by our non-profit organization.

For us, the benefit is very concrete: being able to test new ways of making digital technology more accessible to people who face the greatest difficulties in their everyday use of it.

Key points

Key points:
  • La Formation pour tous is joining the ElevenLabs Impact Program.
  • ElevenLabs is providing us with access to its voice technologies for one year.
  • We will notably experiment with accessible and multilingual audio learning content.
  • LFT-Lab also aims to explore future voice assistants designed to support people with digital tasks, particularly people with disabilities.

Why voice technology matters to us

Today, La Formation pour tous mainly relies on selecting, organizing and curating existing resources in order to make useful content easier to access for people who want to improve their digital skills.

But making a resource available does not always make it truly accessible.

For some people, particularly those with physical or motor disabilities, using a traditional digital interface can create an additional barrier. In these situations, voice interaction can provide another way to access and use digital services.

This is one of the areas we now want to explore.

ElevenLabs technologies will allow us to progressively test audio and multilingual versions of selected resources, while also exploring new forms of voice-based support.

Voice assistants for everyday digital tasks

One area that particularly interests us is the development of future voice assistants capable of supporting people with very practical digital tasks.

Understanding a procedure.
Finding the right information.
Being guided through the use of an online service.
Being able to ask for help without necessarily having to master a complex interface.

These are still experiments, not services that are already available.

That is precisely the role of LFT-Lab: to test ideas, confront them with real-world needs and determine what can genuinely be useful before going further.

These experiments may notably be carried out with our partners and with medico-social organizations supporting people with disabilities.

Support that gives us more room to experiment

Joining the ElevenLabs Impact Program does not change the mission of La Formation pour tous.

It simply gives us more resources to explore it.

Having access to these technologies for one year will allow us to test uses that we might not otherwise have been able to experiment with as quickly.

And that is probably what interests us most about this support: being able to move more easily from an idea to a prototype, and then from the prototype to the field.

Thank you to ElevenLabs for its trust and support of La Formation pour tous.

The next steps will now take place within LFT-Lab.
